Requirements for Club Sports

Club sports will need to meet or exceed the following requirements to be considered an active club sport and be eligible to apply for club funding. If requirements are not met, please refer to the “Probation & Deactivation Of Student Organizations” section of the Student Organization Handbook for consequent processes.

  1. Participate in the Fall Connect Fair and Spring Club Fair.
  2. Hold 7 monthly leadership team meetings per year.
    • Sept. Oct. Nov. Jan. Feb. March, April.
    • Log meeting notes in Involve.
  3. Keep Involve up-to-date at all times.
    • Leadership team roster.
    • Membership roster.
    • Organization Charter and Constitution.
    • Emergency Contact Forms for each member.
    • Insurance Information for each member
    • 2 Safety Officer Certifications
  4. Meet S-S-S requirements outlined in the section below.
  5. Minimum of 1 practice per week unless otherwise cleared by ASDE.
    • While 1 practice per week is the requirement, club sports who wish to compete well are encouraged to practice more
  6. Minimum of 1 competition per semester or 2 per year.
    • These can be inter-club competitions on or off campus
  7. Keep emergency binder up-to-date and present at all practices, competitions, and travel.
  8. Have a full-time GWU faculty/staff or current GWU adjunct professor advisor.
  9. Complete annual reregistration every April.
