Get to Know Bo

Gardner-Webb’s new puppy officially begins his service on Aug. 26. In the mean time, he will be meeting his veterinarian at Hope Animal Hospital, engaging in basic etiquette training and getting ready to start his duties as GWU’s mascot.

Bo is an English Bulldog from a breeder in Garner, N.C. The University has plans to involve him with our campus community and town— meeting future bulldogs and their families, connecting with our alumni, cheering for the Runnin’ Bulldogs at home athletic events, and acting as not just a big dawg on campus, but well-known in town, too. Wherever he goes, he is excited to represent Gardner-Webb.

6 Tips for Students

  1. Set yourself up for success!
  2. Get involved—Do what you love and love what you do, and find others who enjoy those things, or try something new! I’m going to give this whole mascot thing a try, what are you going to try this year?
  3. Get to know new people—I am going to be the new kid on campus this year, too! So say hi if you see me (and scratch my ears)
  4. Hydration is key—never leave home without a refillable water bottle (or water bowl) and refill at campus water bottle fill up stations
  5. Keep your fridge stocked with snacks—maybe it’s just me, but I always like a good snack to keep me motivated and focused
  6. GWU is here for you—GWU has many resources to help you succeed in class and in life. Whether you need writing a resume or need to visit a counselor, there are caring people everywhere you look who want you to reach your goals!
