Spring Concert Includes Gardner-Webb Orchestra and Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra

The Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra will join the Gardner-Webb Orchestra for a concert on April 15.

Program on April 15 Features Some of the Best Young Musicians in the State

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The 50-member Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra (GSYO) will join the Gardner-Webb University Orchestra for a performance on April 15 at 7 p.m. in Dover Theater. They will perform individually and together the works of Resphighi, Mussorgsky, Ravel, and Sibelius.

The GSYO has a rich tradition of touring regionally, nationally, and internationally. The concert at Gardner-Webb is one of only two dates they will play in western North Carolina this spring. This will be a great opportunity to hear the best young musicians in North Carolina in performance.

The Gardner-Webb University Orchestra also has 50 members and is led by Dr. Patricia Sparti, director of Orchestral Activities, professor of music, and principal conductor. They are delighted to host the GSYO. “We feel so honored, thankful and blessed to work with Maestro Peter Zlotnick and the members of The Greensboro Symphony Youth Orchestra!” she praised. “We hope many from the University and surrounding communities will come to the concert, which promises to be fantastic.”
