Phillips Graduate Studies Office Manager Erica began her career in education as a fifth-grade teacher at Cliffside Elementary in Rutherford County Schools, and once she discovered a passion for teaching science, she transferred to R-S Middle School to teach sixth-grade science. She eventually transitioned to teach eighth-grade science and a science course that allowed middle schoolers an opportunity to earn a high school credit. After 10 years in the classroom, she said God led her down another career pathway, allowing her to focus her attention on motherhood in the evenings. She quickly discovered her skill-set in data management/administrative assistant work as the data manager at R-S Central High School. Now she feels like God has led her “home” as she has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Gardner-Webb. As a mother of a toddler, most of her time is spent loving and caring for her sweet Isabel. She also enjoys cheering on her husband’s high school basketball team and golf team. Additionally, in her spare time she enjoys photographing nature and landscapes. Focusing on the beauty of God’s creation is a calming hobby.
