Ed., Wellness, Sport Studies Biography Mr. Jones supervises and coordinates the University’s medical care for 22 NCAA Division I/FCS athletic teams with his primary sport responsibility being, Football. In addition to his Athletic Trainer duties, Mr. Jones holds the rank of Assistant Professor. In 2007, Mr. Jones was recognized as the Gardner-Webb University “Male Staff member of the Year” and in that same year, Mr. Jones was also recognized with the “Meritorious Service Award” by the Gardner-Webb University Athletics Hall of Fame. In June of 2015, the National Athletic Trainer’s Association’s – College/University Athletic Trainers’ Committee, recognized Mr. Jones as the “Division 1 Athletic Trainer of the Year”. Mr. Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts from Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) College, and a Master of Arts from Gardner-Webb University. Jones and his wife, Shelly, have two children, Taylor and Ryan.
