category: Recognition Stefka Eddins, Ph.D. By Gardner-Webb University On January 5, 2023 Professor of Chemistry, Department of Natural Sciences Dr. Totten and Marissa DiMatteo, Biology class of 2024, received research funding from Sigma Zeta, a science and mathematics honor society, to work on an undergraduate research project titled “Presumptive Drug Test Kits and Compounds That Are Responsible for False Positives.” This nationally competitive award is the first of its kind for Gardner-Webb University. Prof. Teralea Moore is the Sigma Zeta faculty advisor, and Dr. Stefka Eddins is the faculty liaison for Sigma Zeta undergraduate research awards. Previous Years August 2023 Four faculty presented a talk titled “Reimagining the Science Capstone Experience at a Liberal Arts Institution” at the Lilly Conference on Innovative Strategies to Advance Student Learning in Asheville, on August 8, 2023. 2022 Dr. Totten and Dr. Eddins co-authored a chapter titled, “Engaging Students Through Integrated Pedagogy: A Case Study From A Year of Pandemic Teaching.” In P.H. Bull & G.C. Patterson (Eds) Redefining Teacher Education and Teacher Preparation Programs in the Post-COVID-19 Era (IGI Global book, 2022).
Post Dr. K. Angel Queen Assistant Professor, Hunt School of Nursing Dr. K. Angel Queen, assistant professor in the Gardner-Webb University Hunt School of Nursing, completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at Gardner-Webb in August 2024.
