New Technology Showcases Unique Campus Features in an Immersive Digital Experience BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Gardner-Webb University has launched a new Interactive Map by Concept3D. The map covers the main campus and is accessible online on mobile and on desktop. Users can easily find buildings, amenities, and points of interest through the search bar or by navigating categories. “Previously, we had a static campus map that was difficult to update and didn’t show all current locations,” noted Assistant Vice President for Web and Digital Communications Thea Thompson. “Now, we can make instant changes to the map, making it easier for everyone to navigate the campus in real-time from their electronic devices. A university campus can be intimidating, but this improvement provides a straightforward overview of all our buildings, while displaying all that our campus truly has to offer.” The new interactive campus map offers a robust set of features, including: Wayfinding with turn-by-turn directions to anywhere on campus. Birds-eye view of events happening around campus. Visibility of road closures and construction areas. The map can provide directions from one point to another on the GWU campus, and give directions to points of interest off campus. From the search menu, students and visitors can look up buildings as well as offices and departments inside each building. They can discover where to eat on campus in Dover Campus Center and in Tucker Student Center. Disc golf enthusiasts will be able to see the entire course on the map. Other points of interest on campus, such as the Broyhill Adventure Course or Lake Hollifield are highlighted. The map also includes directions to popular spots in Cleveland County, Asheville and Charlotte, N.C., and Gaffney and Greenville, S.C. The map can be accessed on any smartphone or computer. Students, faculty, staff and visitors are encouraged to explore the map and its many features. Access the map.
