news-category: Athletics Gardner-Webb Lacrosse Honored for Academic Excellence By Office of University Communications On August 29, 2024 Eleven Students Recognized from IWLCA; Team Adds 12 Players for New Season BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The Gardner-Webb Women’s Lacrosse team has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) as an honor squad for the 2023-2024 academic year. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the team must have posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. In addition, 11 players were selected to the Division 1 IWLCA Honor Roll. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. “Our staff could not be prouder of our team’s efforts in the classroom during the 23-24 school year,” praised Head Coach Kathleen Mirgon Crum. “This past fall, we held the highest team GPA in program history and were excited to be named an Honors Squad following our spring season. Our ladies adjusted to a lot this past year and academics never wavered.
