Admit highly qualified applicants capable of successfully completing the Gardner-Webb University Department of Physician Assistant Studies program.

CASPA Applicant Data Comparison

A. In order to show that our applicants are highly qualified, the program strives to admit applicants that that are at or above national CASPA data for non-science GPA, science GPA, and overall GPA. As evidenced in the tables below, GWU PA program matriculants are consistently above the CASPA national averages in all categories.

Graduation Data

B. GWU Physician Assistant Studies Graduation Data

In order to evaluate if our matriculants are capable of completing the program, we review our program’s attrition and graduation rates. The GWU PA Studies program benchmark for student attrition is <2 students per cohort or a 6% attrition rate (94% graduation rate). While that benchmark was exceeded with the 2024 and 2025 cohorts, the benchmark was met with the 2023 cohort. To address student attrition, the program is conducting a self-study regarding remediation policies, program curriculum, academic standing policy, and availability of student resources. The program works closely with the GWU Noel Center for Disability Resources to advocate for assistance with struggling learners. We are devoted to supporting our students in their PA education journey.
