Bridge to Professional Advancement in Nursing Agreement between North Carolina Community College and Gardner-Webb University

The North Carolina Community College Bridge to Professional Advancement in Nursing Agreement with Gardner-Webb University provides a seamless ASN-to-DNP pathway for North Carolina Community College nursing students. This agreement offers two transfer pathways for students:

Transfer Pathway 1: PN to ASN

Students who are accepted into the North Carolina Community College’s PN program are dually accepted into the Advanced Placement LPN option in the Hunt School of Nursing ASN program at Gardner-Webb with a seamless pathway to the Davis RN-to-BSN program, Master of Science in Nursing (Education/Administration/Dual – MSN/MBA), and/or Doctor of Nursing Practice (Family Nurse Practitioner/Psychiatric Mental Health/Post-Masters) programs.

By collaborative agreement between the North Carolina Community College and Gardner-Webb University, community college students in the LPN program are automatically accepted into the Hunt School of Nursing’s Advanced Placement LPN option (within the ASN program), conditional upon meeting admission criteria.

Upon receipt of admission documents, an enrollment representative from Gardner-Webb will contact the student to assist with registration for classes.

Community College and Gardner-Webb University are constantly striving to enhance community college student access to Gardner-Webb programs and degrees. The parties recognize that curricular changes occur periodically, and that executing a new agreement each time either party makes a change is inefficient and burdensome. Therefore, to the extent that either party makes curricular changes that are purely technical in nature or that serve to enhance community college students’ ability to matriculate to Gardner-Webb, either party may implement such changes upon providing prior notice to the other party, to include the specific proposed changes. Unless either party objects within 30 days of notice, the curricular changes shall go into effect at that time, and the attached Transfer Pathway Plan will be so amended as necessary to reflect the changes. To the extent that the Transfer Pathway Plan is changed, Gardner-Webb will provide a revised version and post it on its website. Any other types of changes shall be in writing and be executed by authorized representatives of each institution.
