Assistant Track and Field/Cross Country Coach

Breanna Clayton is assistant coach for Cross Country and Track and Field in Athletics. From 2022-2024, she was associate head coach of Cross Country and Track and Field at Capital University, located in Columbus, Ohio. While there, Breanna was part of the 2023 Indoor Women’s Coaching Staff of the Year. She had 50 top 20 All-Time list performances for cross country and track and field for Capital University, and athletes who broke six school records. The program also had 14 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) All-Conference (1k, 3k steeple, 4×4, 4×8, DMR, & 8k XC), two on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team, and seven OAC All-Academic individuals. In the Spring of 2022, Breanna was assistant coach for Track and Field at Gardner Edgerton High School, located in Gardner, Kan. During her time there, senior Jordan Kilonzo ran 1:54.9 in 800m, placed 1st at 6A region 1 meet, and 4th at state. Sophomore Parker Walion improved from 4:38- 4:18.8 in 1600m, placed 4th at 6A region 1 meet and 8th in state, and ran 9:45 in 3200m. As a senior, he ran 4:15 and 15:03 in 5k. In the men’s 4×8, Walion posted the second fastest time in school history and placed second at the Region 1 meet with a time of 8:07.82
