Indiana UniversityPh.D. Louisiana State University Biography Dr. Chris Nelson earned his doctorate in Theatre from Louisiana State University, where during his studies he directed Kindertransport, Scapino!, and Talley’s Folly. Chris received his MFA in Theatre Performance from Indiana University. While there he played such roles as Mitch in A Streetcar Named Desire, Leonato in Much Ado About Nothing, Hogan in A Moon for the Misbegotten, and Manus in Translations. Chris attended Samford University as an undergraduate where he majored in Religion and Theatre, and also received a Master’s degree in History from the University of Alabama. He also enjoys working with younger performers, having directed middle and high school students in Les Miserables Student Edition, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Beauty and the Beast, and Children of Eden.
