Home / People / Dr. Olga Poliakova Dr. Olga Poliakova Professor of Mathematics Dr. Olga Poliakova joined the Gardner-Webb faculty in 2000. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, in 1998 under the direction of Boris Schein. Her dissertation focused on free inverse semigroups. She received her MS in Applied Mathematics from Moscow State University, Russia, in 1990. Her thesis research focused on the area of k-valued logics. She is a faculty adviser for the Math Club SIGMA. She likes hiking, traveling, reading, and playing guitar.
