Home / People / Shannon Hovis Shannon Hovis Director of Alumni and Parent Relations Shannon Hovis serves as the Director of Alumni and Parent Relations, bringing with her a strong background in leadership, relationship-building, and community engagement. For more than two decades, Shannon held leadership roles with the Cleveland County Family YMCA, where she was deeply committed to helping staff and members grow and thrive. She concluded her YMCA career as Executive Director of the Ruby C. Hunt YMCA, where she led with vision, compassion, and a heart for service. In 2019, Shannon transitioned into the financial services industry, joining Gragg Financial. There, she worked closely with both prospective and current clients, offering personalized service and guidance through every stage of their financial journey. She also supported the firm’s managing partner with SEC compliance and regulatory reporting, helping to maintain the highest standards of integrity and excellence. Shannon earned her bachelor’s degree from Gardner-Webb University in 1995 and is honored to return in a role that allows her to connect with alumni and families who share a love for the University. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking in the beautiful North Carolina mountains and relaxing at the beach with her husband. She treasures time spent shopping with her daughter, meaningful conversations with her son, reading, and nurturing her faith. Above all, Shannon is passionate about drawing closer to Christ and living a life rooted in purpose, connection, and service.
