PACE 660 Grant Writing I – Funding Sources
March 21, 2025

This workshop is an explanation of the process for securing funding in the public administration and the nonprofit sector. Explore the funding environment which includes how to identify foundations, corporations, and government funding sources.

  • Learning Outcome 1: Provide an overview of the process of identifying grant funding resources.
  • Learning Outcome 2: Examine the connection of the need for funding and the identification of funding sources.

PACE 661 Grant Writing II – Grant Research
March 28, 2025

This workshop will involve identifying a funding source that aligns with the proposed initiatives of both the agency and the source. Pre-requisite PACE 660.

  • Learning Outcome 1: Provide an overview of the process of identifying grant funding resources.
  • Learning Outcome 2: Examine the connection of the research to the need and request for funding.

PACE 662 Grant Writing III – Grant Writing
April 4, 2025

This workshop will include writing a grant proposal as a written assignment. The proposal will include the funding source and the initiatives. Pre-requisite PACE 661.

  • Learning Outcome 1: Provide an overview of the process of identifying grant funding resources.
  • Learning Outcome 2: Examine the proposal components and finishing touches for a grant proposal.
  • Learning Outcome 3: Putting it all Together – Organize the grant proposal with the required sections from your funding agency.

PACE 663 Grant Writing IV – Implementation and Evaluation
April 11, 2025

This workshop will include an implementation plan and evaluation of the proposed grant. Grant proposals will include peer and professor review. Pre-requisite PACE 662. Certificate issued upon successful completion of PACE 664.

  • Learning Outcome 1: Provide an overview of the Implementation and Evaluation process of finalizing the grant writing project.
  • Learning Outcome 2: Provide the final product of the Grant Writing series, which should be a complete grant proposal.

PACE 664 Grant Writing V – Presentations of Grant Proposals
April 25, 2025

Grant Writing V will include presentations of grant proposals. Pre-requisite PACE 663.

  • Learning Outcome 1: Reflect on your professional development in terms of grant writing skills through the program.
  • Learning Outcome 2: Effectively communicate your grant proposal.

Successful completion of the five-workshop series can be applied toward Gardner-Webb’s Master of Public Administration program (10-month MPA) in Gardner-Webb’s Master of Public Administration program (10-month MPA).
