category: Health Coronavirus Information: Confirmed Cases By Gardner-Webb University On July 13, 2020 As Gardner-Webb University continues to prepare for the upcoming Fall 2020 semester, the health and safety of the GWU community remain our top priorities. As of Monday, July 13 Gardner-Webb has two confirmed cases of COVID-19. These are the first two reported cases. Both cases are student-athletes, the first case was confirmed July 12. This student has been in quarantine since July 6. The second positive case was confirmed on July 13 and this student has been quarantined since July 10. Contact tracing in partnership with the Cleveland County Health Department is ongoing. As a reminder to faculty and staff, anyone with actual or potential exposure to Covid-19 should notify their supervisor immediately and their supervisor will then notify David Wacaster (704.406.3235) Barry Lane (704.406.2266) and Human Resources—Scott White (704.406.4259) or Frances Sizemore (704.406.3502). If you are a residential student who has tested positive or has had exposure to a positive case of COVID-19, contact the Dean of Students, Dr. Sarah Currie. Commuter or graduate students who have tested positive, or who have been exposed to a positive case, should report the issue to the Director of Safety, Barry Lane. It’s important for all of the Gardner-Webb community to follow health and safety guidelines. Please remember that face coverings are required everywhere indoors on the Gardner-Webb Campus both in Boiling Springs and in Charlotte where physical distancing of six feet or more cannot be maintained. We all share the responsibility to keep our campus safe. It’s very important for everyone to wear a face covering, wash your hands and respect physical distancing guidelines.
