The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI) provides EPPs with data pertaining to the percent of students receiving initial teacher licenses as well as the percent employed. The following table summarizes the number of state and institutional completers who were employed by a NC Public or Charter School within one year of graduation.
Note: The total number of GWU candidates applying for teaching positions for the above table is 201; there were 18,789 candidates applying for teaching positions in the state of NC. Data was gathered on 4.7.2025.
The purpose of this table is to provide information on candidates who become employed within one year of their program completion to meet reporting obligations in law. To calculate the number of graduates of the EPP employed, the following definitions are applied:
* Please note that all Advanced Licensure candidates are continuing their teacher-education as required by NCDPI, and therefore are employed within the school systems across North Carolina and South Carolina.
As of Spring 2025, there are 2,092 total GWU graduates employed in 110 ELAs and 1,252 schools across the state of NC/
