The College of Arts and Sciences at Gardner-Webb University is composed of those departments and academic units which are home to the liberal arts (arts, humanities, natural and social sciences).
As the intellectual heart of the university, the College promotes interdisciplinary learning, global understanding, communication skills and the promotion of critical thinking and discovery, all in the context of Christian faith.
Welcome to the College of Arts & Sciences!
Every student that walks through the doors of Gardner-Webb University spends a significant amount of time in The College of Arts and Sciences (CoA&S). The CoA&S plays a pivotal role in providing a strong liberal arts foundation to all students with disciplines ranging from Visual and Performing Arts to Natural and Computational Sciences to the Humanities, Communications, and Social Sciences. As a product of and advocate for Liberal Arts education, my goal as the Dean of the CoA&S is to provide the needed guidance and leadership to ensure that Gardner-Webb faculty have the freedom and support to provide our students with the 21st-century skills necessary for success. My hope is that students who experience the world-class education the CoA&S offers will become well-rounded, lifelong learners.
