The mission of the Gayle Bolt Price School of Graduate Studies is to provide opportunities for high quality advanced study to individuals holding bachelor’s or advanced degrees from regionally accredited institutions, within a context that embraces faith and intellectual freedom, balances conviction with compassion, and inspires in students love of learning, service, and leadership.
The curricula–which for the most part are designed to meet the needs of full-time professionals working in their fields–emphasize independent, critical thinking, effective communication, and the importance of the scholar and professional as theorist and practitioner.
The Gayle Bolt Price School of Graduate Studies includes multiple schools and departments offering advanced degrees and certification. Specifically, graduate programs are offered in the list below.

The School of Graduate Studies was named for Gayle Bolt Price in 2012. Dr. Price was a dynamic member of the Gardner-Webb faculty and administration for 21 years. A native of Greenwood, S.C., Price joined the Gardner-Webb faculty in 1991 as a professor of English, and eventually served as chair of that department. She founded and directed both the Learning Assistance Program and the Writing Center, coordinated the Writing Across the Curriculum Program, and served as dean of the Graduate School. In 2007, she was named associate provost for graduate and professional studies, the position in which she worked tirelessly until her death. We are honored to carry on the work of the graduate school in her name.
