About Top Dawg

The Top Dawg Award was created for GWU to promote excellence and to provide visible recognition of exceptionally consistent and superior performance of GWU Staff.

Eligible Employees: All full-time and part-time administrative and staff employees who have been employed for more than 2 years at GWU, are eligible for Top Dawg.  Prior recipients are not eligible to be considered for a Top Dawg award until 3 years have passed. 

Criteria for Nominees:  

  • The staff member has consistently demonstrated exceptional performance and remarkable proficiency in his/her assigned duties;
  • The staff member has demonstrated hospitality and has been active in promoting a pleasant and positive work environment.
  • The staff member made a significant contribution towards the achievement and mission of GWU.

How Staff will be recognized for Top Dawg:

  • Faculty, Staff and Students can nominate a staff member by filling out the survey provided through Qualtrics. (Employees may not nominate themselves.)
  • A link to the survey will be sent out to Faculty, Staff and Students at the beginning of each semester to nominate a staff member.
  • Top Dawg nominations will be compiled and chosen by the staff recognition committee.  If a Staff Recognition committee members is nominated for Top Dawg, then he/she will not have a vote in selecting Top Dawg recipients.  If majority of the Staff Recognition committee is nominated, then it will be turned over to the staff council to vote.
  • Two staff members will be selected and recognized each fall and spring semester.
  • Each “Top Dawg” recipient will receive $100.00 gift card/certificate to the Campus Shop and a plaque.
  • The recipients will be featured on our website including any other social-media outlets as our Top Dawg(s) for the semester.

Spring 2023 Top Dawg Winners

Molly Allison

Associate Director of Admissions

Molly Allison is the associate director of Admissions. Her nominator mentioned that “Molly has gone above and beyond as our interim director of Admissions. She regularly takes time to meet with the department to keep us updated as we move through the year, puts in extra hours every week to make sure she fulfills her current role’s (associate director) responsibilities and her temporary role’s (interim director) as well, and always maintains a positive attitude and optimistic outlook despite the extra work.”


Linda Lee

Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences

Linda Lee is administrative assistant to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. Her nominator said, “Linda goes above and beyond her job requirements. She is selfless when it comes to helping others. As (I’m) a new full-time faculty member, Linda has been a tremendous help to me in all endeavors. Aside from her general administrative duties, she is always willing to lend a hand with a smile on her face.”
