Serving the unique needs of our commuter students

Gardner-Webb University recognizes the unique needs of our commuting students. The Commuter Commons is designed to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for both undergraduate and graduate students who travel to campus from off-site locations. Located on the third floor of Tucker Student Center, the Commuter Commons is your home away from home, offering a variety of amenities and resources to make your campus experience enjoyable and productive.

Features and Amenities:

  • Comfortable Lounge Areas: Relax between classes in our cozy seating area equipped with Wi-Fi, charging stations, and study tables. We also provide three desktop computers for you to use on assignments and a television with Air-Drop capabilities so you can watch some of your favorite shows while waiting for your next class.
  • Kitchenette Facilities: Heat up your lunch or store your food with access to a microwave and mini refrigerator. The Department of Graduate Studies has partnered with us to ensure that there are light refreshments, like coffee and tea, for you to enjoy while using the space.
  • Lockers: Store your belongings securely with our on-site lockers available for daily use. There are a variety of locker sizes to fit your needs, and the only thing you’ll need to bring is your own lock!
  • Social Events: Participate in social and networking events designed to help you connect with fellow commuters and the broader campus community. If there is something you would like to see hosted, our staff is always looking for new ideas!

The Commuter Commons is here to enhance your university experience, providing a dedicated space where you can study, relax, and engage with the campus community. We look forward to seeing you here!
