Bulldog Cares Food Pantry

Welcome to the Bulldog Cares Food Pantry!

It can be challenging to do your best in class if you have trouble meeting your basic needs such as being hungry or worried about when your next meal will be.

If this is you, you can come to the Bulldog Cares Food Pantry and receive a bag of food items while being mindful that there are others needing this shared community resource. We ask that Food Pantry visits be limited to four visits per month. If you find you need to utilize this resource regularly, we will connect you with other university resources that can address your individual circumstances.

What can I expect when I visit the Bulldog Cares Food Pantry?

You will be greeted by a student worker or staff member, who will provide you with a bag for your items. If you have a reusable bag, we encourage you to bring and use it. Doing so helps us reduce costs so we can purchase more food and better support those in need.

Student workers or other staff will be available to assist students while they pack their bag. Students may also request additional items displayed on a list posted outside the Food Pantry by asking a student worker or staff member.

Please note that available items may vary depending on current inventory and donations.

After-Hours and Special Requests
If you are unable to visit the pantry during regular hours or have a special request, please contact us. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule and needs whenever possible.

The Bulldog Cares Food Pantry is closed on weekends and all university holidays.

We are only able to assist currently enrolled Gardner-Webb University students at this time.

Bulldog Cares Food Pantry Available Items Upon Request

To help maintain privacy and ensure equitable distribution, some items are available upon request. If you need any of the items listed below, please write the item on your request sheet. We are happy to assist you, and all requests are handled respectfully and confidentially.

Items may include:

Personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, lotion, Vaseline, cotton swabs, razors, and shaving cream)
Laundry detergent and cleaning supplies
Toilet paper and paper towels
Bedding (sheet sets, pillows, and blankets)
Bathroom essentials (shower curtains, shower curtain rings, towels, hand towels and washcloths)
Kitchen essentials (paper plates, plastic silverware, containers)
School supplies (pens, folders, 3-ring binders, highlighters, spiral notebooks, calculators, post it notes, planners)
Seasonal items (coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and blankets)

Please email [email protected] for other emergency assistance items, gluten-free and other specialty dietary items (including vegetarian, vegan, low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, and other dietary options).
