120 Years of Faith in Action: Give. Serve. Pray.

From November 17–21, the Gardner-Webb community will come together for a week of generosity, service, and prayer—three expressions of faith that have defined our University for 120 years. As we celebrate this milestone, we are uniting around a common purpose: to love our neighbors and strengthen our community. Partnering with United Way, we’ll honor our history of impact by giving to meet urgent needs, serving with compassion, and lifting one another in prayer. Together, we can continue the legacy of a University that leads with heart, hands, and hope.

With Hearts, We Give — 120 Years of Generosity

As a Gardner-Webb family—faculty and staff together—we don’t just teach or work behind the scenes. We shape lives, inspire purpose, meet needs, and support students in countless ways. That same spirit of care is what makes Gardner-Webb feel like home.

This fall, during the Week of Giving, Service and Prayer, we invite you to put that care into action through the United Way. For 120 years, our University has thrived because of a community that gives sacrificially, joyfully, and with purpose.

When you give to United Way, you help feed the hungry, support education, improve health, and provide shelter—right here in our region. Together, our goal is 50% campus participation. Whether you choose a one-time gift or simple payroll deduction, every contribution makes a difference.

Every gift, no matter the size, is a statement of faith in our mission and in the people we serve. Let’s lead by example and honor 120 years of generosity.

With Hands, We Serve — 120 Minutes of Impact

At Gardner-Webb, serving others isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are. Every act of service is a chance to live out our faith in real, tangible ways.

This fall, during the Week of Giving, Service and Prayer, we’re partnering with United Way and community organizations across our region. Our goal is 120 combined hours of service—and if each of us gives just two hours, together we can easily surpass it.

There are be opportunities both on and off campus, and the Office of Christian Life and Service can help you find the right fit. If you already have a project in mind, let us know—we’d love to connect with you and support it.

Every act of service reflects our mission and shows the love of Christ through action. Let’s come together and make an impact.

With Hope, We Pray — 120 Voices United in Faith

Prayer connects us—heart to heart, neighbor to neighbor, and soul to purpose. It reminds us that we are not alone in the work we do and that God’s presence guides every step. Prayer strengthens the hands that serve and inspires the generosity that gives—it’s the foundation that supports it all.

During the Week of Giving, Service & Prayer (November 17-21), we invite you to join in lifting up our campus, our community, and our neighbors in need.

In addition to two moments of campus worship and prayer, you’ll receive daily 30-second reflections—simple prompts to pause, breathe, and reconnect with God as you move through your day of service and generosity.

Campus Prayer Gatherings
