March Newsletter: College of Education

Bulldog Press

I hope your 2023 is off to a great start. On behalf of the faculty, staff, and candidates of the College of Education, I want to thank you for all your support in the past. The College of Education serves as the beacon of K-12 education preparation in North Carolina and beyond. As graduates of Gardner-Webb University’s prestigious College of Education, you are the ambassadors of our mission to serve “God and Humanity” by building the next generation of citizens of this great nation. As Nelson Mandela stated, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” With the knowledge, skills, and disposition learned at Gardner-Webb University, our candidates epitomize this statement in all they do daily to impact diverse learners.

The College of Education is pursuing new initiatives and programs as well as expanding existing programs. We are proud to share a few with you:

  • With the inception of the Teacher Assistant to Teachers Program, we now enroll over 150 teacher assistants across North Carolina. We are a leader in preparing teacher assistants as teachers.
  • The doctoral programs in Curriculum Instruction and Education Leadership and graduate degrees in School Leadership, Instructional Technology, and Teacher leadership continue to produce highly qualified candidates serving in leadership positions in several North and South Carolina school districts.
  • Our Doctoral Assessor Program supports the teaching and mentoring of undergraduate candidates and prepares doctoral candidates as adjunct professors.

The College of Education seeks to be a catalyst for positive, sustainable change in North Carolina and beyond. We continue to promote excellence through our teaching, scholarly works, and service.

“Excellence is our minimum standard.”

Prince Hycy Bull, Ph.D.
