Registered Nurses holding a Doctoral degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution with a nationally accredited nursing program are eligible to apply to Gardner-Webb’s Post-Doctoral Nursing Certificate programs. Two options are available; Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
The purpose of the Post-Doctoral Certificate for Family Nurse Practitioners is to facilitate the education of doctoral prepared nurses for roles as Family Nurse Practitioners (FNP). Students completing the 40-credit hour Post-Doctoral FNP Certificate will have the knowledge and clinical experience needed to sit for national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

The purpose of the Post-Doctoral Certificate for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners is to facilitate the education of doctoral prepared nurses for roles as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP). Students completing the 42-credit hour Post-Doctoral PMHNP Certificate will have the knowledge and clinical experience needed to sit for national certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
By completing the Post-Doctoral Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate, you will meet the graduate education course and clinical requirements and be eligible to sit for the national Family Nurse Practitioner certification examination.
By completing the Post-Doctoral Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program, you will meet the graduate education course and clinical requirements and be eligible to sit for the national Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification examination.
