WGWG is a media service of Gardner-Webb University.
The mission of WGWG is to present programming that is educational, inspirational and entertaining.
With this mission in mind, WGWG seeks to:
- Entertain the public by presenting a variety of music, the arts and ideas.
- Inform listeners of significant issues facing society, through educational programming.
- Serve our audience by partnering with community groups and other non-profit organizations.
- Promote, enhance and represent Gardner-Webb University by maintaining a positive reputation among the public and media professionals.
Founded in the 1960s as a student radio club and operated as 88.3 on the FM dial from 1974 through 2013, WGWG now delivers a live streaming radio service that was launched in 1998, and provides on-demand programming. True to its roots, WGWG continues to offer Gardner-Webb students numerous opportunities for hands-on radio and communications experiences.
