Policy for Requesting Preceptor/SCPE Sites

ARC-PA 5th ed Standards A1.10, A2.17, B3.01, B3.05, B3.06

GWU PA students are not permitted to recruit preceptors or SCPE sites through direct communication.

Students may suggest potential SCPE preceptors or sites by submitting the Potential Preceptor/Site Request form (link in Blackboard). This form is an internal form only. It must be completed online by the student. It should never be sent directly to a preceptor or site.

Students are limited to requests for the following SCPEs only:

• Pediatric Medicine SCPE
• Women’s Medicine SCPE
• Elective I/II SCPEs
• Underserved Medicine SCPE

Submission of the Potential SCPE Preceptor/Site Affiliation Request form does not guarantee placement at the requested site.

DEADLINES:

• All non-elective SCPE potential preceptor/site requests must be submitted in Qualtrics by 11:59 pm on the last Sunday of Block #1, to include MPAS624 Pediatric Medicine SCPE, MPAS626 Women’s Medicine SCPE, and MPAS636 Underserved Medicine SCPE.

• All elective SCPE potential preceptor/site requests must be submitted in Qualtrics by 11:59 pm on the last Sunday of Block #7, to include MPAS638 Elective I SCPE and MPAS641 Elective II SCPE.
