Creating Opportunities For All

June 23, 2022, marks the 50th anniversary of the passage of Title IX, a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity by any education program or activity that receives federal funds.

Beginning on the anniversary and continuing throughout the year, Gardner-Webb University will explore 50 years of Title IX by examining how far gender equality has come in the United States since 1972 and what more needs to be done.
