Gardner-Webb Women’s Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

Team Plays Nine Matches at Home This Season

Note: The venue and time for today’s exhibition game has changed because of the remnants of Hurricane Debby. The game will be played in Stone Soccer Stadium in Greenville, S.C., and kickoff at 11 a.m. 

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—The Gardner-Webb University women’s soccer team has announced the schedule for the 2024 season. GWU Head Coach Erik Solberg announced that Gardner-Webb will play 19 matches total including 11 nonconference games and an eight-game Big South slate.

“We are really excited about the schedule this fall,” Coach Solberg said. “Our nonconference schedule has a lot of challenging games that will prepare us for the day in and day out rigors of conference play in the Big South. We are really looking forward to kicking off the season at Greene-Harbison Stadium and playing in front of our home fans.”

Following a home exhibition match against Furman University, the Solberg era officially begins at home a week later with Gardner-Webb hosting Stetson University on Aug. 15 at 7 p.m.

  • Sept. 15 – 1 p.m., Virginia Military Institute (away)
  • Sept. 19 – 6 p.m., South Carolina State University (home)
  • Sept. 25 – 7 p.m., Radford (home – Big South)
  • Sept. 28 – 2 p.m., Longwood (away – Big South)
  • Oct. 2 – 7 p.m., High Point (away – Big South)
  • Oct. 5 – 7 p.m., Presbyterian, (home – Big South)
  • Oct. 12 – 4 p.m., Charleston Southern, Senior Night (home – Big South)
  • Oct. 16 – 6 p.m., UNC-Asheville (away – Big South)
  • Oct. 18 – 6 p.m., South Carolina State (away)
  • Oct. 23 – 6 p.m., Winthrop (home – Big South)
  • Oct. 26 – 7 p.m., USC-Upstate (away – Big South)

The 2024 Big South women’s soccer tournament will begin with the quarterfinals on Nov. 2, followed by the semifinals on Nov. 7, closing with the championship game on Nov. 10. The semifinals and championship game will take place in Matthews, N.C.
