To maintain professionalism, community and enhance education in virtual classes, the guidelines below are intended to provide smooth conversation on virtual platforms and promote a positive learning environment.

  1. Be on time and do not leave early.
  2. Mute your microphone when you aren’t speaking.
  3. Keep your video on. If your camera is off, aside from a designated class break, your attendance will be marked absent.
  4. You may blur your background or use an appropriate virtual background. Adjust your camera and lighting, so your face is clearly visible.
  5. Dress professionally. Shirts are required.
  6. Please act like this is class—put phones away and avoid side conversations. Avoid multi-tasking and focus your attention on the class.
  7. Keep comments and discussions respectful and professional.
  8. Beverages and small snacks are welcome, but please save eating large meals for the breaks.
  9. If you are unable to stay for the entire class or would prefer to have your camera off, then you may not be marked present for attendance.
