Gardner-Webb has several great on-campus dining options to choose from. Two of our meal plans provide unlimited daily access to The Cafe or you may use the flex points included with your meal plan at Starbucks, Chick-fil-A or the restaurants within the Tucker Food Court.
Exemptions from the meal plan requirement are granted only when it is determined that the exemption would constitute a reasonable accommodation of a student’s disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act. All meal plan exemption requests must be directed to the Noel Center for Disability Resources (“Noel Center”) located in Frank Nanney Hall. The Noel Center may be contacted at (704) 406-4270 (v), (866) 298-0119 (vp), or via email at [email protected].
The student making the request must provide the information and documentation required by the Noel Center, including, but not limited to, a completed Physician’s Statement, using the form(s) provided by the Noel Center. The student may be required to meet with staff from the University’s dining services company, University Housing, and/or the Noel Center to help determine whether the meal options available can meet the student’s needs, without a meal plan exemption.
Exemptions for the following reasons will not be considered: dietary preference (e.g. vegan/vegetarian), work/class/practice schedules, or other personal preferences.
If approved for the meal exemption, the Noel Center will notify Housing and the Business Office.
Meal plan exemptions must be applied for each academic year unless otherwise noted, and decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
The Noel Center for Disability Resources makes the final determination regarding eligibility for meal plan exemptions.
