Financial Clearance & Billing Information

To stay enrolled, keep your class schedule, and move into campus housing; you must complete financial clearance by their program deadline. This page outlines what financial clearance means, important billing dates, and how to manage your account.

What is Financial Clearance?

Financial Clearance is the final step in the registration process. It confirms that you will attend the classes you’ve registered for, and your financial obligations (tuition, housing, fees, meal plans, etc.) have been addressed.

You are financially cleared when you have one of the following:

  • Approved and accepted financial aid*
  • An active payment plan set up
  • A $0 balance on your student account

* Please note: Accepting financial aid does not always cover your entire balance. You may still need to pay the difference or set up a payment plan to cover the remaining amount.

Due Date Responsibility

To avoid disruptions to your enrollment, you must have financial clearance by the posted deadline. Students who are not financially cleared by their deadline may:

Accessing Your Online Bill

  1. Log into MyGWU
  2. Select Student Self Service Tile
  3. Select on Student Bill*
  4. You’ll be directed to the Payment Portal, where you can make a payment, set up a payment plan, and view your bill details.
