Use patterned backgrounds to accent branded materials. These help add texture and interest to the design in a subtle and sophisticated way that references the curves of the Gardner-Webb flame. There are two versions: black and GWU red.
Paw print icons may be used as background texture, as a pattern, or as subtle graphic elements in designs. They may not be rotated, distorted or skewed or used in isolation (just using one paw), unless there’s written approval from University Marketing and Communications. The paw prints do not replace any official GWU logos—they are purely graphic elements in designs. Paw prints may be set in black, GWU red, any of the grays in the GWU color palette, or white.
Use circles for profile photos, especially when alongside a quote.
Use quote marks as a subtle graphics behind quotes (set in Winner Narrow Extra Bold).
Emphasize the use of white space when using free-floating photos. Use a grid to align photos and keep the margins between the photos substantial.
For accentuating text. The black frame is at 0.35 points and the red line is 4 points.
Use a gray box as a sidebar for bullets. Divide content with a solid or dotted line.
