The University Orchestra (MUSC 386) is comprised of a full complement of strings, full winds and brass and percussion.
Orchestra (MUSC 386), comprised of GWU students and members of the community, performs several concerts per year. Orchestra is open to all students regardless of major. Membership in Orchestra is by audition only, though strings may join without audition. The group is a full member of the League of American Orchestras and the Association of Symphony Orchestras of North Carolina. Orchestra proudly performs on and off campus in support of local community relations and enrichment in music education.
Non-Music Major members of Orchestra receive a $1,000 scholarship per year. Please contact Dr. Patricia Sparti, Director of Orchestra, for more information.
