student symphony

The Symphonic Band (MUSC 385) has emerged as one of the finest wind ensembles in the region, and is dedicated to performing the best in concert wind band literature.

As the primary ensemble for wind and percussion students, numerous concerts are
presented in both the fall and spring semesters, both on and off campus.  Each spring,
the band hosts a Wind Band Festival on campus, where high school bands and middle
school bands are invited to perform and receive critique from members of the Music
Department faculty, as well as work in a clinic setting with our world-class applied
professors.

Membership in the ensemble is open to all music majors and non-majors at the permission of the director.  Instruments are available when necessary.  For more information, contact Dr. Sarah Fabian, the Director of Bands.
